Lancel is Luna’s clinical data analysis assistant. The agent slug in the workforce repo is data; Lancel is the persona name.

What Lancel does

Lancel helps Luna staff explore, query, and understand clinical trial data — CGM readings, insulin delivery timing, participant metrics, and study outcomes. The agent’s job is to help users get accurate answers from data, not to interpret clinical significance — that’s the clinical team’s call.

PHI scope

Lancel is the only agent on the platform tagged piiScope: phi. Invoking Lancel requires phi-authorized Workspace group membership; the agent-router will return 403 to anyone else even though the agent slug exists.

What Lancel will not do:

  • Identify individual trial participants by name or PII — participant IDs only.
  • Cross-reference data from one study with questions about another unless explicitly asked.
  • Make clinical interpretations of significance (efficacy, safety claims, regulatory implications).

Where it lives

Lancel’s tools include scoped read-only access to Luna’s clinical data warehouse. Queries are logged for audit (metadata only). All model calls go through Luna’s AI Gateway with Anthropic Zero Data Retention contractually on.
